Beta Testing Program Guidelines
Updated over a week ago

Thank you for your interest in the GoFormz Beta Testing Program!

Beta Testing is a key element to our product’s success. As a participant in the GoFormz Beta Testing Program, you will play a critical role in finalizing key functionality for each beta feature.

Please read the following guidelines and expectations for participation in this program.

If you have any questions regarding the guidelines below, please email product@goformz.com.

What is the GoFormz Beta Testing Program?

The GoFormz Beta Testing Program is a volunteer group of users and accounts that have the opportunity to test new features and functionality prior to the production release.

What are Beta Features?

Beta features are features and functionality that are not yet available in GoFormz for all accounts or subscriptions.

These features are available to a select group of accounts to provide testing and feedback before release. This means that, while a beta feature may be available on your account, this feature has not been released to the GoFormz platform and is still considered in the testing phase of the product development lifecycle.

Who can apply to be a participant?

Applicants to the Beta Testing Program are required to be:

  1. Administrators (part of the Administrators group)

  2. Primary points of contact for the GoFormz account.

However, this does not mean that Admins are the only users who can test a new feature once it is enabled. Beta Features are enabled account-wide, not per user (unless otherwise specified).

When a beta feature is enabled for an account, this means that all users who have access to the tool(s) with this feature will also have access to the new beta functionality.

For example: If the beta feature is a new field type for Templates and Forms, all users in your account with access to the Template Builder will be able to see and add this new field to a Template. Similarly, all users who have access to forms with this new field type will be able to interact with the new functionality.

What can I expect as a participant in the program?

Participants are not required to test every beta feature, but rather will be given the opportunity to do so as new features are made available. When a new feature is available for beta testing, a member of the GoFormz Product Team will reach out asking if this functionality is of interest to you and/or your team. If it is and you would like to participate in this feature’s beta testing period, we will share more details about the functionality and enable it on your account.

If this feature is not something you are interested in testing, we will remove you from the communications mentioned below about this particular feature (note: this will not remove you from the overall program).

What can I expect when actively beta testing a new feature?

During the beta testing period, you can expect communications from the GoFormz Product Team including but not limited to:

  • Beta testing and feature updates

  • Feedback resources and help documentation about the feature(s)

  • Check-ins and requests for feedback

  • Release details and timeline

While using this feature, you may encounter bugs or undesired behavior.

Because beta features are still in testing, you or your team may experience bugs or issues. If you come across an instance that may be a bug, please either:

  1. Submit the details of what you experienced to the appropriate Private Forum in the GoFormz public portal

When reporting a bug, it is important that you include key details of what you experienced including but not limited to:

  1. Statement of the behavior you experienced

  2. What you expect the behavior to be

  3. Steps that can be taken to reproduce the behavior

  4. The device you were using

Beta Features are enabled account-wide, not per user (unless otherwise specified)

When a beta feature is enabled for an account, this means that all users who have access to the tools with this feature will also have access to the new beta functionality.

For example: If the beta feature is a new field type for Templates and Forms, all users in your account with access to the Template Builder will be able to see and add this new field to a Template. Similarly, all users who have access to forms with this new field type will be able to interact with the new functionality.

How do I share my feedback?

As a beta tester, we ask that you share your feedback and experiences using the feature early and often.

The best way to share your feedback is through the Private Feedback Forum for the particular feature you are testing (an invitation will be shared by the product team at the start of the testing period).

Please submit your feedback, questions, and/or possible bug reports here as new ideas. You can also vote or comment on feedback that other beta testers have submitted for this feature.

Alternatively, you can email product@goformz.com if you have any questions, concerns, or experience an urgent issue that needs immediate attention.

What can I expect after a beta testing period has ended?

Once a beta testing period has concluded for a particular feature, you will receive release plan confirmation including:

  1. Final details about the feature's functionality

  2. Confirmed timeline for release

  3. Subscription and/or pricing details (as applicable)

Note: While a feature is in beta testing, it will be free for all subscription levels. However, this is subject to change once the feature is planned for release.
