“Upload to SharePoint” action overview

Add an "Upload to SharePoint" action to your Workflows to collect files, images, and Form PDFs from your user-submitted Forms.

Updated over a week ago

Send Forms or images submitted by your Form Users directly to your SharePoint account with the Upload to SharePoint action.

Workflow actions combine to make your Workflow recipes. The Upload to SharePoint action works with other actions to send files included with dispatched Forms to your SharePoint site.

Your Form file collection action options include:

At least one of the actions listed above must precede the Upload to SharePoint action in your Workflow.

When you’re ready to add the Upload to SharePoint action to your Workflow, you’ll need to configure your Connection, Site, Document Library, Destination Path, and File(s). Additionally, you can configure metadata for this action.

Connection is where you’ll select which of your account’s connections you want to use for this action. If you’d like to use a new connection, access this list and select + Add Connection.

Select the SharePoint Site to which you want this action to deliver the Forms and images collected in your previous steps. You’ll also need to select your SharePoint Document Library.

Your Destination Path determines the folder in your SharePoint account where your Workflow delivers your collected files.

If you specify a SharePoint folder that doesn’t exist as your Destination Path, this Workflow will automatically create a new folder in your SharePoint account. You’ll find the files collected by your Workflow in the newly created folder.

Configure your File(s) to select which files you want to send to your SharePoint site.

When you use a pre-made recipe, your File URL(s) are automatically defined. If you use this step in a custom Workflow, you’ll select the files you want to collect using the File URL(s) menu.

Catch-up quick: When you select from your available File URLs, you’ll find them presented in variable syntax, indicating the Workflow step and its output files.

Variable syntax is formatted as #{Step name.Selected file}.

So, if you choose to collect the available files from your Workflow’s Get Form Images step, your variable syntax displays as #{GetFormImages.fileList}.

Set up your Metadata details to map your Form values (like specific fields) to your SharePoint columns. The Column Name you enter will populate using the Value you enter in the associated fields.

Managed metadata - including SharePoint’s taxonomy fields - cannot be mapped with this step.
