Add buttons that trigger actions directly from any form — drag them onto any template from the fields panel.
Available to Enterprise accounts only. Requires mobile version 4.0.2209 or later.
❔ Catch-up quick
Action Buttons are a field type you add directly to your Template. Once placed, they give Form Users a single tap to trigger a configured action — opening a link, launching a custom web view, and more.
Add an Action Button by dragging it from the fields panel onto your Template. From there, configure the button's action type and settings in the field's Properties panel.
Add an Action Button to your Template
In the Template Editor, drag the Action Button field from the fields panel onto your Template canvas.
Once placed, select the field to open its Properties panel. Select an Action Type to define what happens when the button is tapped, then configure the Button Text — the label your Form Users will see.
After configuring your button, click Save to apply your changes to the Template.
Action Types
Link
A Link button opens an external URL when tapped. Use this to give Form Users instant access to reference materials, portals, or any web resource — without leaving the form.
Configure by entering a destination URL in the Action URL field.
Reference documents — safety guides, compliance checklists, SOPs
External tools or portals — vendor sites, customer portals, internal dashboards
Supporting resources — training materials, instructional videos, product specs
💡 As an example,
A field service team uses a GoFormz Form for equipment inspections. Their Template includes an Action Button labeled "View Maintenance Manual" that opens the equipment manual hosted on their company's internal portal — giving technicians instant access without leaving the form.
Web View Custom Action
A Web View Custom Action button opens a web-based experience inline within the form. Use this for more advanced integrations where you need to surface a web app, embedded tool, or custom workflow directly within the Form User's experience.
Configure by entering the destination URL for the web view in the Action URL field.
💡 As an example,
A logistics company embeds a custom shipment lookup tool directly into their delivery Form. Form Users tap the Action Button to pull up shipment details inline — without switching apps or losing their place in the form.
