Establish your Add Custom Metadata action to map Form fields to a file in your Box account using custom metadata.

🗒️ Note: In a Workflow, the Add Custom Metadata action should follow a Box Upload File action.

When you establish this action, you’ll provide your Connection, File ID, Custom Attributes, and Custom Attributes.

In the Connection menu you’ll find the connections available to you from Box account. If you'd like to add a new connection, scroll to the bottom of the menu and click + Add Connection, or navigate to the Connected Apps page.

Your File ID references the file to which you’re adding your Template Metadata. How you’ll interact with this steps depends on whether or not you’re using a Workflow recipe.

If you use a Workflow Recipe, then this field is pre-populated with outputs from your preceding Upload File action. If you’re not using a recipe, you’ll need to manually select the File IDs output from the Upload File action in the Workflow.

Custom Attributes includes the Custom Metadata Attribute names that you would like to use in Box and how you want that attribute value to populate. This can be hardcoded or utilize Workflow Variables.
